So, now people are wondering what exactly is the difference between Hemp Oil and CBD Oil. But, as you do more research, you may find yourself even more confused. Consumers often have a hard time distinguishing between Hemp Oil and CBD Oil because both contain a low dose of THC (the principal psychoactive constituent of cannabis). Concerns have arisen regarding extracts of CBD (cannabidiol, a non – psychoactive cannabinoid in cannabis ) that has significant medical benefits, but does not make people feel “stoned”. These abstracts of CBS are being marketed as “ Hemp Oil.” Cannabinoids, which can be either consumed or produced naturally by the body, are chemical compounds that interact with the body’s central regulatory system. This system manages homeostasis and affects bodily processes such as appetite, mood, and sleep. This controversy has led the nonprofit Hemp Industries Association to issue a statement explaining the difference between the oils to ensure that consumers are not misled about the intended uses. “With hemp research and development pilot programs taking off this spring, and the hemp retail market growing at an incredible rate, it’s crucial that consumers and retailers alike understand the difference between hemp oil and CBD extracts,” said Eric Steenstra, executive director of Hemp Industries Association. “Our Hemp Industries Association position regarding this distinction calls on makers of CBD products to brand and market their products truthfully and clearly, to not further the confusion surrounding CBD products in the marketplace.” THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN HEMP OIL AND CBD OIL Hemp and marijuana are relatives, but marijuana has a much higher THC content than hemp. Hemp fiber and seed cultivars contain relatively minimal CBD and CBD production from such plants should not be considered a primary product. It is used in the production of paints that are more eco-friendly than petroleum-based paints. It can be used as bio-diesel fuel, like other vegetable oils. Hemp oil can be used for making lotions, soaps, and even some foods WHAT IS CBD OIL? CBD oil is a natural oil made from the flowers, leaves, and stalks of hemp and not from its seeds like hemp oil.
